As recently as a year ago hosting your site on more than one server was way too expensive for many; these days the cloud makes hosting across many servers in many data centres affordable to all! For the past 2 years we have been providing our clients with an option to host on the cloud. In early 2009 we moved all of our white label hosting onto Amazon EC2. In late 2009 we began work for Rackspace, developing and supporting their EMEA sites, we were introduced the the Rackspace Cloud. Now we offer combinations of both.
Known as Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute(EC2) Amazon are leaders in providing cloud hosting solutions and as of October 2008 have provided a 99.95% uptime SLA. With AWS, your website is served by 19 points of presence globally. Benefits include, different power connectivity and geographical location – all amounting to greater resilience.
As Cloud hosting represents a very different way of hosting, it is vital that your site is set up to benefit from this. We use Scalr to scale your site on-demand and utilise the suite of Amazon and Rackspace services to provide a responsive and cost effective solution to fulfil every requirement.
Should you require a dedicated solution, we have been running these for clients through Rackspace for some time. Rackspace are well known for looking after your site at the server-level. We look after everything else – the software, the CMS, the database, and other apps, providing complete 360º support of your website.
