Overview
The Economist wanted to provide an interactive application for advertisers to browse, select and download advertising rates.
"We were looking for a new digital route for agencies and clients to access rates in a more dynamic way that reflects the way they use the website." says Katrin Schlenzka of The Economist.
Challenge
Our brief was to devise a fresh approach to the way advertisers navigate the hundreds of combinations of advertising rates.
The application had to enable advertisers to create their own data sheet specific to their requirements.
Solution
Advertisers are now able to construct the exact combination of adverts, print options and territories for their needs in four simple.
Dynamically generated Excel files provide advertisers the data they need in a format that works for them.
Ruby on Rails enabled us to build the application with minimum lead-time, getting the solution live in the fastest possible time.
"Using our Ruby on Rails and AJAX expertise to develop this application made it possible to develop the project cost efficiently within a tight timescale. " said Tim Carr
