Worcester City Council had identified TYPO3 as the CMS that would power the new version of their website.
WCC had to meet the e-GIF requirements of all public sector websites - they have to use the correct metadata categories and tag all their published content with the correct metadata tags. WCC also had to build up internal expertise in TYPO3, both in building templates and in development. They also wanted to be able to run an intranet which would be held in an internal, restricted network, but which would be used to run the main website.
3rd Eye Vision supplied a package on training, the website build, and custom development to allow WCC to use TYPO3 and meet their requirements.
The requirements
Worcester City Council have to make available on their website information on all of their services - from refuse collection to community safety, and from parking to local building development. Their core requirements were:
- Powered by TYPO3
- e-GIF compliant, using the Local Government Category List (LGCL)
- To build up in-house TYPO3 expertise
- Syncronisation between internal (intranet) and external (website) networks
